The Grand Harbour Clean Air Project in Valletta, implemented by Infrastructure Malta, has established one of the Mediterranean's first, largest, and most advanced shore-to-ship power (OPS) systems for cruise liners, with the capacity to power up to five vessels simultaneously. This €37m-€44.6m initiative enables ships to turn off engines, reducing pollution by up to 90-99.6% and benefiting 17,000 nearby residents.
