Port Project - Case Studies
At Faxaflóahafnir, electrification is driving growing demands for effective energy management at ports. In partnership with SnerpaPower, the port is piloting digital energy management tools at low voltage level to explore forecasting, optimization, and active load management. This work is informing the port’s electrification roadmap and future energy planning. A planned 24 MVA onshore power supply (OPS) connection for cruise ships, expected to become operational in 2028, represents the next phase and illustrates how ports can progressively move toward more informed and active participation in the energy system.
