This presentation explores the development of a next-generation battery system for Project Zero, a 70-meter zero-emission sailing yacht.  It will discuss the key engineering challenges encountered during development, with a primary focus on mitigating thermal runaway propagation in a densely packed system. The presentation will detail the design strategies used to localize and contain failure events, including the integration of advanced thermal shielding solutions within a highly constrained volume.
