Wind farm O&M fleet electrification economic case

16 Jun 2026
Ports and Infrastructure
Day 1 Room 3 Ports & Infrastructure
Offshore wind farm O&M fleets across Europe and the UK continue to burn large amounts of diesel daily. This is despite having the potential for direct access to economical and high-efficiency electrical power produced directly on their work sites. This presentation will highlight the electrical fleet and the technological readiness of the necessary offshore charging infrastructure. It will justify the e-fleet business case validity. The two main blockers to technology adoptionwill be identified namely: the current lack of regulatory clarity for 'behind the meter' offshore power offtake, and schemes to offset charging infrastructure capex for the developers. Finally, the presentation will propose a clear way forward.
