Evaluating maritime batteries beyond cost per kWh

Exhibitor presentations on the Atlantic Stage – Day 1
Total cost of ownership is one of the most important factors in maritime battery selection, especially for vessels with frequent cycling, short charging windows, hybrid load support, and high uptime requirements. Cost per kWh can be useful as a starting point, but it does not show how a system will perform, age, or affect vessel economics over years of operation. In this presentation, Felix Backgård, Head of Technical Sales at Echandia, will explain how LTO battery systems influence the full lifetime cost equation. Drawing on real maritime use cases, the session will give shipowners and operators a practical basis for evaluating battery investments across the full operating life of the vessel.
