Galvanic isolation
The galvanically isolated converter plays a vital role in the seamless integration of Fuel Cells, primarily due to the high sensitivity of the Fuel cells to ground faults. Using an isolated DC/DC it protects the fuel cell from any ground faults that occur on the DC bus to which it is connected. The galvanic isolation serves as a protective barrier, preventing the direct flow of electrical current between the input and output sides. This isolation is achieved through the use of transformer-based techniques, which effectively break the electrical connection while allowing the transfer of power.
Scalability
It can be scaled to a powerful 10 MW. Whether you're planning a small or big project, this converter module is here to efficiently and reliably meet your energy needs.
Power density
By using tailormade components the DCKraft is designed with a high focus on power density, both for the module, but also the ability to incorporate up to four DCKraft into one cabinet with a total power of 800 kW. This is particularly advantageous in space constrained applications where size and weight reduction are critical, which always is a matter in a marine context. By packing more power into a smaller space, high power density enables the design of smaller and lighter systems, leading to reduced installation.
High efficiency
By using top line of Silicon Carbide (SiC) technology the DCKraft module will come with a very high efficiency >99 %. One of the key advantages of SiC is its ability to handle higher voltages and current densities while minimizing power losses. As a result, SiC-based power electronics systems can deliver greater efficiency, and improved overall performance. The DCKraft can be optimized to the specific Fuel Cell brand to reach a peak efficiency at the operation level according the the typical Fuel Cell curve.
