Carlos has a degree in oceanography from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Since 2007, he has been head of the ocean vehicles unit at Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN). He has over 30 years' experience in ocean tech with a focus on autonomous observing systems and platforms. His technical and operational supervision tasks are time-shared with desk activities related to R&D program/project coordination, ocean governance initiatives, innovation and services management.
