Dharmendra is the global ports segment leader at Schneider Electric, driving the company's strategy for electrification, decarbonization, automation, and digitalization across the ports and maritime sector. With over 21 years of experience in energy, electrical engineering and industrial decarbonization, he works with port authorities, terminal operators, EPCs and shipping lines to develop practical, investment-grade pathways to a low-carbon port ecosystem. Dharmendra combines deep electrical engineering expertise – spanning MV/LV infrastructure, onshore power supply (OPS/shore power), smart grids and energy management – with a strong commercial and regulatory understanding of the sector. He is well versed in the evolving international frameworks shaping port decarbonization, including AFIR, FuelEU Maritime, IMO GHG Strategy, EU ETS and TEN-T, and translates these into actionable technology roadmaps for his clients. Prior to his current role, Dharmendra led Schneider Electric's European Electrification Consulting practice and held senior positions at Shell, Foster Wheeler, Fluor and BP, delivering major electrification, energy storage and decarbonization projects across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and beyond. He is a chartered engineer (IET) and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and holds an MBA in operations and a BEng (Hons) in electrical engineering.
