Juan Esteban is a senior engineering and sustainability leader with more than 30 years of international experience delivering complex marine and offshore energy projects. He has a strong track record advancing energy efficiency, electrification and low-carbon solutions for fixed and floating assets, from early concept development through execution and operational deployment. He is widely recognized for leading large-scale electrification and decarbonization initiatives across maritime and offshore portfolios, including hybrid power systems, advanced energy storage, digital infrastructure and emissions reduction technologies in safety-critical environments. His work consistently aligns engineering execution with asset integrity, operational reliability and regulatory compliance. Juan has proven leadership across the full project lifecycle, with accountability for HSE, quality, schedule and cost performance. He is known for disciplined technical governance, sound systems architecture judgment and a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach to complex projects. An effective leader of global, multidisciplinary teams, Juan has extensive experience working with EPC contractors, OEMs, joint-venture partners, regulators and asset owners. A trusted technical advisor, he combines deep domain expertise with strong commercial acumen to support strategic investment decisions. At ABS, Juan provides strategic and technical leadership for global initiatives in sustainable electrification, including port electrification and onshore power supply (OPS), as well as hybrid and battery energy systems across the maritime and offshore sectors. He leads the development of technical, regulatory and governance frameworks that enable the end‑to‑end delivery of low‑carbon solutions – from concept and feasibility through engineering, construction, commissioning and operational deployment.
