Lukas Kistner is a researcher and project manager with expertise in advanced marine power systems and a background in power engineering. Since 2018, he has worked on ship power system configurations and techno-economic assessments, with a particular focus on innovative and sustainable propulsion solutions. In 2023, he received his doctorate from Leibniz University Hannover, Germany. His areas of expertise include hybrid and multi-technology ship powertrains, model-based system design optimization, energy management strategies, regulatory and emission compliance, as well as fuel cells and alternative fuels. Since 2024, he has been a Senior Researcher at the HD Hyundai Europe R&D Center, where his work centers on solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) systems for marine applications, particularly integration concepts and safety requirements.
