Makoto Ito PhD, is a senior scientist at the ClassNK Research Institute. He specializes in safety assessment of autonomous ships and remote operations, contributing to safety requirements and evaluation frameworks. A member of the ClassNK MASS Project Team since 2022, he plays a key role in national and international MASS projects, providing technical support for certification in Japanese projects, participating in international conferences and contributing to safety assessment development and regulatory discussions.
