Nigel is the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) for Robosys Automation where he is responsible for the global growth, Go To Market strategy and product innovation. He has 18 years of high tempo global defence, maritime and commercial business experience including with Lockheed Martin, Ultra Electronics and with a US Private Equity owned UK engineering company. Previously Nigel served in the Royal Navy for 23 years as both an engineer and a Seaman/Warfare Officer and Master Mariner, in both ships and diesel electric and nuclear submarines. Nigel joined Robosys Automation in Dec 2021 as a Director and Shareholder and now manages the strategy, growth and international expansion of Robosys, with offices in the US, UK, Canada and India with contracts as far east as Tasmania and as far west as Vancouver. Throughout his military and commercial career, Nigel has been extensively connected with the sea from service in submarines and ships, as well as for the for the last 10 years enabling maritime autonomy for unmanned/uncrewed vessels and ships. In June 2025, Nigel was awarded SMI's Marine Science & Technology Businessperson of the Year. Nigel is a Freeman of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners, a livery company of the City of London.
